Hopi Ear Candles

Also known as Thermal Auricular Therapy, it originates from North East Arizona, USA from the Hopituh Shi-nu-mu tribe which translates as The Peaceful People.

The candles are about 9 inches long (approximately 23 centimetres) and are placed at the entrance of the ear canal to form a seal so that the candle can act as a 'chimney' to draw out any impurities that may be in the ear. They are composed of cotton, bees wax, paraffin wax, honey, sage and other essential oils.

Relief from wax in the ears, sinusitis, 'swimmers ear' and snoring are a few of the conditions that may be helped by this treatment.

Both ears are treated while you are lying down and the treatment lasts about 45 minutes which includes a light facial massage.
